III Edición GYLF 2018

La Tercera Edición del Global Youth Leadership Forum se celebró entre los días del 14 al 20 de octubre de 2019 en el Palacio de la Magdalena de Santander (España).

A lo largo de siete días, 250 líderes jóvenes, menores de 40 años, con importantes responsabilidades en sus países, debatieron con destacadas figuras mundiales del ámbito político, económico, social y académico sobre los desafíos que, como sociedad, afrontaremos en los próximos años.

Organismos Internacionales, Gobiernos Nacionales, Estatales, Municipales, Empresas Multinacionales y Universidades de primer nivel estuvieron implicadas directamente en un evento que, impulsado por Naciones Unidas (a través de la Oficina de Naciones Unidas Contra la Droga y el Delito), el Banco Mundial (a través de la Dirección de Educación Superior), la Comisión Europea y por los gobiernos de España, Santander y Cantabria, se ha
consolidado como referente internacional.

En esta Tercera Edición, Su Majestad, El Rey de España, D. Felipe VI, nos honró con la Presidencia de honor del Patronato del Global Youth Leadership Forum. Así mismo, pudimos incorporar a nuevas instituciones como la Unión Africana (AU) y la Liga de Estados Árabes (LAS).

La Tercera Edición contó con personalidades de talla mundial que abordaron los desafíos globales desde dos perspectivas, por un lado, desde el análisis de los desafíos de la gobernanza a nivel global, y por otro lado, el reto que supone el desarrollo de las nuevas tecnologías para gobiernos, empresas y ciudadanos.

Personalidades como José Luis Ábalos, Ministro de Infraestructuras del Gobierno de España; Francisco Marmolejo, Coordinador Global de Educación Superior del Banco Mundial; Juan Yermo, Jefe de Gabinete del Secretario General de la Organización de Cooperación y Desarrollo Económico (OCDE); Majed Almuairi, Ministro Plenipotenciario, Ministro de Capacitación y Métodos de Desarrollo de la Liga de los Estados Árabes; Amro Ali Ali Awad, Director de Recursos Humanos, Juventud, Ciencia y Tecnología de la Unión Africana; Teresa Jiménez, Alcaldesa de Aguascalientes, México; Ivan Pilip, Ex Ministro de Finanzas, Educación, Juventud y Deporte de la República Checa, y ex Vicepresidente del Banco Europeo de Inversiones (BEI); Wambui Kahara, Representante de la Juventud de las Naciones Unidas para África; Jorge Rojas, ex Ministro de Fomento de Colombia; César Craviotto, Comisionado para la Reconstrucción de la Ciudad de México; José Ramón García Hernández, Secretario Ejecutivo de Relaciones Internacionales del Partido Popular; Inti Asprilla, Vicepresidente del Congreso de Colombia; o Max Trejo, Secretario General del Organismo Internacional de Juventud para Iberoamérica (OIJ), compartieron sus visiones y repasaron de manera crítica los principales desafíos que afronta la gobernanza global.

Por su parte, el impacto de la revolución tecnológica y los desafíos que afrontarán nuestras sociedades fueron abordados, desde distinta perspectiva, por personalidades como Pedro Rivero, Presidente de Liberbank; David Tuesta, Director de Alianzas Estratégicas del Banco de Desarrollo de América Latina (CAF) y Ex Ministro de Economía de Perú; Laurent Freixe, Vicepresidente Ejecutivo para Zona Américas de Nestlé; Enrique Riquelme, Presidente de Cox Energy, Alejandra Kindelán, Directora del Servicio de Estudios y Políticas Públicas del Banco Santander; Enrique Medina, Director de Regulación y Sector Público de Telefónica; Juan Pardinas, Presidente del Instituto Mexicano para la Competitividad, Charles Nader, CEO de doc.com, o Fermín Albadarejo, Presidente de la Confederación Española de Jóvenes Empresarios (CEAJE).
